FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION Theme 'Caring'. With complete faith in the healing power of Jesus, Jairus asks Jesus to cure his daughter. Jesus always responds to those who believe and even marvels at their faith. Like Jairus, we need the comforting Spirit of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, we can be sensitive and alert to people in need, show loving compassion, ask Jesus to help them, and care for them in whatever ways we can. The children will be leading the Prayer of the Faithful today at 11am.
BAPTISM PREPARATION - If you have a child for Baptism our next course takes place on Saturdays 4, 11, 25 February and 4 March, 2-3pm in the Upper Room. Please get in touch with Canon Michael to enrol.

YORK PASTORAL AREA A meeting to discuss the Consultation Document for the Pastoral Reorganisation of York Parishes takes place on Friday 3 February, 7.30pm at English Martyrs Hall. Please make every effort to attend.
PRESENTATION OF THE LORD - Thursday 2 February. Traditionally this day was called Candlemas. Simeon and Anna met the Holy Family in the Temple 40 days after the birth of Jesus. If you would like to take part in the procession at the beginning of Mass, candles will be provided for each person.
HOMELESSNESS SUNDAY = Today (Sunday). Worship meeting, Central Methodist Church, St Saviourgate 2.30pm. See poster for further details. Barry England will speak at all Masses on Sunday 4 February on behalf of CHAS - part of the Housing Justice National Federation.
APF Red Mission Boxes - the contents of your boxes will be collected today. There are brown APF envelopes at the back of Church for those who wish to use them - also donations of foreign coins (old Spanish Pesetas etc) would be appreciated.
