FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION Theme 'Sharing' During the dialogue which opens the Eucharistic Prayer, we join with the celebrant in giving thanks for the love God shares with us as family. Parish Celebration today (Sunday) at 11.00am

LENT FAST DAY - Friday 5 March. This coming Friday is CAFOD Fast Day. On the tenth anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda that left 1.2 million people dead CAFOD asks you not to turn your back on those in need. Please take an envelope home and share what you can with those who are less fortunate. Don't forget to fill in the attached Gift Aid form if you are a taxpayer.

CHRISM MASS at the Cathedral on Tuesday 6 April. A coach will leave the Memorial Gardens at 9.30am and Our Lady's, Acomb at 9.45am. If you would like a seat, please put your name on the list in the porch indicating your preferred pick-up point. £5. A buffet lunch will be provided at Hemlington for coach parties.

PARISH FUNDRAISING DAY at St Crux, Thursday 4 March. Bric a brac; books, plants, etc. are urgently needed (but no clothes or electrical goods) to be left at the Sacristy/Rectory. More especially, your help on the day would be appreciated. Please sign the list at the back of Church indicating when you are available.

PROCESSION TO HOLY COMMUNION A suggestion from the Parish Forum - that communicants leave their benches row by row when going to receive Holy Communion at Mass. There is no need for everybody to stand and fill up the entire length of the centre aisles at the beginning of Holy Communion.

WOMEN'S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER - Friday 5 March. Central Service, 2pm at St Michael-le-Belfrey. Prepared by Women of Panama.

IRISH NIGHT - an evening of music, song and dance, Friday 19 March at Groves Working Men's Club. Tickets £5 including supper available from St Aelred's School 422800, or Margaret Walsh 424053. See noticeboard.
