YEAR OF ST PAUL: The 29th June marks the beginning of the Year of St Paul. When Pope Benedict XV1 announced this special Year, he explained that he intended it to be a year in which the
Church celebrates St Paul's life and dedicates itself to reflecting, praying and celebrating the lasting and outstanding contribution of this great witness, martyr and saint.
INTERNATIONAL MASS - Sunday 6 July at our 11am Mass. Our last rehearsal is on Monday 30TH at 8pm. To help with the planning and organisation please come along to help with the preparations for the Mass. Refreshments will be served in the garden/rectory after Mass - please bring some food for the sharing on the day.
WELCOME AND CONGRATULATIONS to Ava Cochrane, Chelsea and Lauren Dawson and Reine De Dios who were baptised into the Christian community recently.
FIRST COMMIUNION PREPARATION 2009: A meeting for all parents who feel that their children are ready to prepare for First Communion takes place on Thursday 10 July at 7.3Opm in the Upper Room - entrance through the car park at side of the Church.
BECOMING A CATHOLIC: If you would like to know more about becoming a Catholic, or know of anyone in this situation, a meeting will be held with Canon Michael in the Upper Room on Tuesday 8 July at 7.3Opm.
CALLING ALL CANTORS AND SINGERS - There will be an evening for cantors and singers at St Wilfrid's on Wednesday 9th July, 7.00pm - 9.00pm. If you are an experienced, nervous or reluctant cantor, you are warmly invited to attend this local initiative to encourage you in your ministry and improve your skills. MINISTERS OF THE WORD: The Wednesday meetings are discontinued for the months of July and August. We will reassemble on Wednesday 10 September starting with a gathering for all Readers on Wednesday 10 September from 7.00pm - 9.00pm in the Upper Room.
THE RETIRING COLLECTION today is for Peters Pence. England's centuries of traditional loyalty to the Holy See are reflected in these contributions to the Pope's vast apostolate of help and relief for the world's poor and suffering of all races and creeds.
ST WILFRID'S PARISH INTERNATIONAL EVENING to be held on Saturday 12 July in the school hall from 6.30 to 10.30pm. Dancing, singing, bar, refreshments (please bring a plate for the sharing). Tickets adults £5 children £1. All proceeds go towards supporting our two parish representatives, Olga and Megan, on their trip to World Youth Day with the Pope in Australia.
