WELCOME TO OUR VISITORS and thanks for joining in our Celebration. We hope you enjoy your time in York. Young children are most welcome to be part of the Children's Liturgy at the 11am Mass. Tea and coffee will be served in the Upper Room after the 11am Mass, to which you are specially invited. It helps the parish if tax-paying visitors could use the small white Gift Aid envelope (found at the back of church for any offerings they are likely to make. For every £1 you give, the government gives us back a further £0.28. Thank you for your help.
SINCERE THANKS for all your kindness and generosity to me expressed by your cards, good wishes and gifts at Christmas. May I take this opportunity of thanking all the people who give of their time and talent to the Parish - Catechists, Faith Friends (RCIA), Children's Liturgy, Sacristans, those who serve at the Stall,Cleaners, Flower Arrangers, Servers, Ministers of Word and Eucharist, Singers and Musicians, Welcomers, Collectors and Counters. The Parish could not function without you and your service is deeply appreciated.
BAPTISM CONGRATULATIONS: Today we welcome Alexander James into the Church. Please keep him and his parents, Rachel and Patrick, in your prayer.
CHRISTMAS COLLECTION: This year the collection was for the Church Refurbishment Fund and totalled £1273. Many thanks for your generosity.
CHRISTMAS DRAW: Thanks to the wonderful response to the Christmas Draw - a total of £584.23 was raised for the Refurbishment Fund - see list of winners in porch. Please collect prizes from Rectory and present counterfoils.
RCIA: Our first meeting of 2003 will take place on Tuesday 14 January at 7.30pm.
HELP! More church cleaners are needed - just a couple of hours once a month. Please put your name on the list in the porch.
STALL HELPERS: Could you spare one or two hours a week to serve on the stall in the Church porch? This is a wonderful ministry helping not only St Wilfrid's but a much wider community. Please put your name on the list at the stall or ring the Rectory - telephone 624767.
MARRIAGE PREPARATION: There are three courses planned for 2003 at St Bede's Pastoral Centre, Blossom Street - Saturdays 8 March, 7 June & 15 November.

MARGARET CLITHEROW - Saint of York: A new book on St Margaret, written bya parishioner, John Rayne-Davis, is now available at the Piety Stall in the porch. Price £7.50. Margaret was executed for her faith in 1586 here in York and I highly recommend this book.
DIOCESAN YEAR BOOK 2003 - An invaluable resource for all families. Price £2.
HUNDRED CLUB: Quarterly and monthly subscriptions are due by 2 January 2003. We have several numbers vacant - why not give it a go? Application forms in porch.
ASCENT (an International movement for Christians of 50 years plus). The next meeting of the City Centre Group is Wednesday 29 January, 12.45 - 3pm in the Upper Room. Those who would like to attend the Christmas Lunch on Tues 14 Jan at the Jacobean, are asked to please ring the rectory to put their names on the list.
