WE WELCOME ANTHONY ARMSTRONG TO THE PARISH: a few words from Anthony. I'm a Carmelite, and have just come back from a year studying Carmelite Spirituality in Washington DC. I have finished my studies for priesthood and am just beginning full-time ministry. I'll be working part-time in the Chaplaincy team in the university and part-time here in the parish, and I look forward to getting to meet you all over the coming weeks and months.

ADVENT PENITENTIAL SERVICE for the York Pastoral Area takes place here at St Wilfrid's on Saturday 20 December 2.30pm. The priests of the area will be available for confessions.

CHRISTMAS DRAW - tickets are available today. Please take a few books and sell them to your friends and neighbours. Thanks to all who have already sold tickets and to those who have donated prizes.

PARISH FORUM The notes of the Parish Forum of 16 November are posted in the Church porch. Copies are available also.

PARISH INDIA PROJECT Our monthly fast day is Friday next (5 Dec). The box for your donations will be on the 'gifts' table as you come into Church next Sunday.

LITURGY PREPARATION for January takes place on Thursday next (4 December) at 7pm in the Upper Room. All very welcome.

DIOCESAN LOURDES PILGRIMAGE 2004 -28 May to 4 June. Pilgrims who wish to travel by air as registered sick under medical and nursing care are asked to complete an application form obtainable from Canon Michael.

SAFE AND SOUND HOMES (SASH) provides an invaluable service, taking care of the young people of York who do not have the privileges that many of us take for granted. SASH offers accommodation to young people (16-25) in the homes of providers who care for them as a member of the family, enabling the young people to develop to the best of their abilities through training, education and employment opportunity.
