DAY OF RECONCILIATION Saturday 13 December. 10.00am - 3.00pm. Priests will be available for Confessions here at St Wilfrid's. Please avail of this opportunity during this season of preparation for the coming of the Lord.

ALL SAINTS SCHOOL Advent Service, Monday 1 December, 7.30pm in the Minster. All welcome.

ADVENT QUIET AFTERNOON Thursday 11 December, 2.00pm - 4.00pm at St Bede's Pastoral Centre led by Father Joe Smith.

A KING IN KING'S SQUARE - the story of the Nativity, Monday 15 December, 12.30pm and 1.30pm in King's Square.

MINISTERS OF WORD AND HOLY COMMUNION: If you are available for Christmas ministry please put your name on the list in the Church porch as soon as possible.

MARRIAGE PREPARATION 2009: The marriage preparation dates are as follows: 17 January, 14 March, 7 May, 18 July, 19 September, 14 November. All people planning their wedding are expected to participate in one of these courses which take place at St Bede's Pastoral Centre, Blossom Street, York. Please ring Marriage Care on 789115 to apply.

YOUTH MASS: Many thanks to the young people of the parish who prepared and participated in our 11am Mass for the Feast of Christ the King (Youth Sunday). We are blessed to have so many young people worshipping at St Wilfrid's.

MUSIC GROUP: A number of people have expressed a desire to form a group. The first meeting takes place on Monday 1December at 6.30pm. If you would like to be part of this group you are most welcome to come along and bring your instruments.

ALTAR SERVERS: A number of young people have expressed a desire to serve at Mass - a meeting/practice for prospective servers will take place on Thursdays 4 and 11 December at 4.00pm.

CHRISTMAS DRAW - tickets are available today, please take a few books and sell them to your family and friends. If you could help by donating a prize please put your name on the list in the porch.

ST WILFRID'S PARISH CHRISTMAS PARTY, Fri. 12 Dec., 6.30pm - midnight at York Health Service Club, White Cross Rd. Dancing, food, raffle, etc. Tickets available today at £5.

BIBLE ALIVE - the Advent issue is now available from the porch at £1.95; Day by Day at £1 and Pope Benedict XVI - The Life and Work of Joseph Ratzinger £3.50.

BORDERLANDS II 'The Church in Transition' : A day led by Father Chris Fallon on Saturday 31 January at the Endsleigh Centre, Hull and a repeat day, Saturday 7 February at Holy Name of Mary Church, Middlesbrough. Both days run from 10.00am to 3.30pm. Cost £6 at the door. If you would like to attend one of these days please put your name on the list in the porch.

TAIZE SERVICE - Sunday 21 December at Heslington Church. All very welcome.

VISIT OF RELICS OF ST THOF LISIEUX to England and Wales. As you may have heard, the relics of St Thwill be visiting England and Wales this time next year. We hope this will be a time of great grace for us and for many people in our land. Catholics, other Christians, members of other faiths and no faith will all be welcome to pray by her relics. You are invited to use this forthcoming year as a time of preparation, by praying for the visit and reading about St Thon the special website that has been set up: www.catholicrelics.co.uk At present the relics are expected at York Minster 1-2 Oct. 2009.
