DAY FOR LIFE: The Bishops' Conference has asked that this day be marked in a special way. Today Angela Breffit will speak on behalf of LIFE. A retiring collection will be taken and divided between LIFE and SPUC.

CHANGES IN SERVICE TIMES: As the number of priests in the parishes continues to diminish you will understand that the former level of services cannot be maintained. We will continue with the 10am Saturday Mass in St Margaret's Shrine but the 12 noon in Church is discontinued. Saturday Confessions will now be 10.30 - 12 noon only. (No Confessions next Saturday - 5 January)

WEDDING CONGRATULATIONS to Emma and Peter Sidwell and Christine and Bruce Murray who were married here at St Wilfrid's this week.

CANON MICHAEL: I will be with my family in Ireland until Wednesday 9 January. The priests from the area will be supplying during this time.

LITURGY OF WORD WITH CHILDREN: Would you like to help in this ministry once in every 6 weeks? Please ring Marie Ledgeway on 427543.

HELP! More church cleaners needed - just a couple of hours once a month.

HUNDRED CLUB: Quarterly and monthly subscriptions are due by 2 Jan 2001.

SHOP HELPERS: Could you spare a few hours during the week to serve on the stall in the Church porch and welcome visitors from many parts of the world. Please ring the Rectory - telephone 624767.

CHRISTMAS DRAW:Thanks to all who made the Draw a success - a total of was raised for the Refurbishment Fund - see list of winners in porch.

TEA AND COFFEE will be served after both the 9.00am and 11.00am Sunday Masses in the Rectory until the Upper Room is reopened. All welcome.

DESK-TOP PUBLISHING: It is planned to publish a book on St Margaret Clitherow to help raise money for the Church Refurbishment Fund. If you have a knowledge of desk-top publishing and would like to help, please ring John Rayne-Davis on 706867

AMPLEFORTH ABBEY: The 2002 Pastoral Programme can be seen on the noticeboard. The Ecumenical Day this year takes place on Saturday 20 July - another day of shared scripture and lectio divina for every denomination in North and East Yorkshire.
