Help with flood relief

_87432943_hi030709595This is a picture of Huntington Road in St Wilfrid's Parish early last week. Now the media story has moved on the real work of cleaning-up has begun.

One of the inspiring things about the coverage of the floods in York has been the number of calls we have received in the parish from all over the country - and some from abroad - offering not only sympathy but generous help and support. This is most gratefully received. Whether you are offering donations of money, gifts in kind or practical voluntary service assistance is most effective when coordinated centrally. Full details about how you can help can be found on the York Flood Relief section of the City of York Council website.

The St Wilfrid's conference of the Society of St Vincent de Paul is also able to offer assistance. Please let one of the Fathers or Brothers know if you or anyone you know is in need of help. Meanwhile our sympathies are with parishioners and friends who have been affected. Bishop Terry also assures us of his prayers and thoughts.
