Oratorians in York — The First Week

The parishioners in St Wilfrid's have given Father Richard and Father Nicholas a very warm welcome. This photograph was taken after the 11am Mass on Sunday.

We are discovering so many wonderful things about our new mission. Each week we take our turn with the other priests of the Deanery to celebrate Mass for the Carmelite Nuns at Thicket Priory.

On Saturday mornings we have a prayerful Mass in the Shrine of St Margaret Clitherow at her house in the Shambles, York's most picturesque medieval street.

Above all we have our own beautiful church of St Wilfrid where this week we have already celebrated well-attended Masses for All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day and heard lots of confessions, taking up the great pastoral legacy handed on to us by Canon Michael Ryan.
