Benediction in Our Lady's Month
Fr David took this photograph at Benediction last night after a lovely but busy day with First Holy Communions, lots of parties and a wedding! The statue was given to the parish by the Poor Clare nuns when they left their monastery in Lawrence Street. We are very grateful to them and put it on the sanctuary twice a year in May and October.
Benediction is a wonderful way to give thanks to God for all that he gives us, above all for the gift of himself. This beautiful image captures the peace that descends on the church when Sunday comes to an end and we prepare to begin another working week. At St Wilfrid's we have Benediction with the choir every Sunday at 6.30pm. Why not try to make it a part of your life of prayer?
