St Cuthbert's Ring

Today is the feast of St Cuthbert, who died in 687, and whose tomb in Durham Cathedral is still a popular place of pilgrimage. The ring taken from St Cuthbert's incorrupt body in the sixteenth century is now worn on solemn occasions by the Bishop of Hexham and Newcastle, the Oratorian Bishop Robert Byrne.
