Two new ventures
Two new ventures start on the first and third Tuesdays of each month this autumn and winter, a series of talks and an informal discussion group.
There will be a series of talks on the third Tuesday of each month in the Upper Room to help us understand the significance of some demanding phrases from the new translation of the Mass. The talks will be given by Fr Mark, the new assistant priest for St Wilfrid's and St Joseph's.
The first talk will be on Tuesday, 21st October at 7pm on the theme The Word is made flesh - the role of language in God’s dealings with us. Its importance and its limitations.
The full list of talks can be downloaded here.
Theology on Tap is a discussion group which meets for drinks and a pub supper followed by a talk and discussion of difficult or controversial matters relating to faith. These will take place in the Lamb and Lion in High Petergate. The meetings will be on the first Tuesday of each month beginning on Tuesday, 4th November at 7pm when the topic will be Does faith have a future in contemporary society?
After the first meeting the topics will be chosen according to the interests of the group. Please download the flier here.
