Ordination of the New Bishop of Leeds
Fr Daniel Seward, Provost of the Oxford Oratory, Fr Dominic Jacob and Fr Richard were present at Leeds Cathedral for the Episcopal Ordination of Bishop Marcus Stock as the new Bishop of Leeds.
Cardinal Vincent Nichols was the principal co-consecrator together with Archbishop Arthur Roche, Bishop Emeritus of Leeds and Archbishop Bernard Longley, the Archbishop of Birmingham, the new bishop's former diocese. Archbishop Malcolm McMahon OP, Archbishop of Liverpool and Metropolitan of the Northern Province, was the preacher at the inspiring Mass.
Bishop Marcus has been a friend of the Birmingham and Oxford Oratories for many years. We are delighted to have him as such a near neighbour in York. No doubt he will be very busy in his new role but he assures us he will pay visits to St Wilfrid's from time to time.
Please keep the Leeds Diocese and their new bishop in your prayers.
