Jubilee Prayer

HUMBLE, OBEDIENT...Judith 9:16 "Lord, the prayer that wins Thee is one that comes from a humble and obedient heart." When we implore His help, let us remember first that we are His and are to be humble and obedient in His presence. How shall the soul who is full of pride and self-will offer a pleasing prayer to the Lord? Recall Mary, mother of Jesus, and her humility and obedience. Mother of God, teach how to pray.

INTO HIS HANDS T A'Kempis "I place myself into Thy hands, O God. I commit myself to Thy love and compassion." What a wonderful prayer...especially when we are burdened with some terrible 'maybe.' Faith tells us to trust in God and not be driven by anxiety...even in little things.

A TREASURE Ref Matt 13 The Lord reminds us that being a part of the New Covenant is precious and special, like finding something far greater in value than we ever imagined. It is like a really fine jewel or a wonderful pearl...it is like a net with items to be sorted out and like great wisdom that you find in the storehouse of your heart. Do we take it for granted? Do we fail to appreciate the work of God on our behalf. Is there a joyful sigh of thanks each day? There is no God like our God and no wealth like the wealth of His love.

GOD'S GRACE AT WORK...Proverbs 24:3 "By wisdom, the house is built and by prudence, it is strengthened." Be with us, Lord, for we are nothing without Thee.

FULLY JOINED...T A'Kempis "When O God shall I be fully joined to Thee...to rejoice in Thee...and thank Thee alone...and have no impediment blocking my union with You?" In all of us, there are those things, not worth much, but our attachment to them keeps us a little further away from God. Lord, have mercy. Deliver us.
