THE RETREAT DAY in preparation for the Rite of Election for all involved in the RCIA process will be held next Saturday at All Saints School, 10.30am - 2.30pm.

RITE OF ELECTION: A coach will be going from the Memorial Gardens, York to the Cathedral, Middlesbrough on the First Sunday of Lent - list out next week.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION: Theme 'Giving'.

CONFIRMATION PREPARATION: Our young people meet again on Thursday 9 February 7-8.30pm in the Upper Room. The Celebration of the Sacrament is Monday 21 May 2012 - time to be announced later.

MARRIAGE PREPARATION: Courses for 2012 are: 21 April, 7 July and 6 October. All take place at St Bede's Pastoral Centre, Blossom Street. To book a place please ring freephone 0800 389 3801.

MUSIC FOR THE NEW TRANSLATION: Thanks to all those who turned up for the last three Monday practices for the new music for the Mass. It is most encouraging to see people giving up their time to help us celebrate the Eucharist in a fitting manner.

EDUCATION SUNDAY: A retiring collection will be taken at all Masses this weekend.

WOMEN'S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER - Friday 2 March, prepared by Christian women of Malaysia: Let Justice Prevail. The York Central Service takes place at St Olave's Church, Marygate at 2.00pm. Speaker: Nan Saeki.

GREETINGS FROM JAPAN: Betty Chan has started her two years work in Japan and is settling well into life there. She has found a Catholic church and is already on their Readers list! She sends her love to all at St Wilfrid's. Please see her card and address on notice board.

LENTEN LUNCHES: Lent begins on Ash Wednesday (22 February). If you could help with the Lenten Lunches on one of the Fridays of Lent by providing soup and rolls and tea and coffee in the Upper Room, please put your name on the list in the porch.

APF RED MISSION BOXES - please bring in the contents of your boxes during February. If you would like to help the missions in this way boxes are available today.

ST LEONARD'S HOSPICE FELLOWSHIP SERVICE, 4.00pm, Sunday 12 February at Acomb Methodist Church, Front Street. Bishop Drainey will lead the service. All are most welcome and refreshments will be served after the service.
